Course Curiculum

Introduction to AML Compliance: Introduction to the foundational concepts used in the course, an overview of the AML certification process, objectives of the certification, and a workbook for exam preparation, followed by a Q&A session.
Fundamentals of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing : This chapter deals with the definition and understanding of Money Laundering, exploring its three stages, associated vulnerabilities & threats, the basics of Terrorist Financing, and the role of sanctions in AML, including a practical case study.
Legal Framework and Regulatory Oversight: Introduction to global anti-money laundering initiatives, the role of supervisory authorities, key legal provisions of AML/CFT Laws, an understanding of international directives and regulatory bodies, and an overview of laws combating terrorism, followed by a Q&A session.
Cultivating AML Compliance Within Organizations : Discusses the critical elements of a strong compliance culture, the role of various organizational entities, setting up an internal audit function, and obligations & training of employees, with a case study.
Risk Assessment and Management in AML: Introduction to the Risk-Based Approach (RBA) in AML, identification of risks, the process of assessing ML/TF risks, ongoing monitoring, and record-keeping, capped with a group discussion and case study.
Customer Identification and Due Diligence: Covers AML & TF prevention procedures, in-depth study of Customer Due Diligence processes and guidelines, including understanding Simplified & Enhanced CDD, ongoing monitoring, third-party reliance, data processing regulations, followed by an exercise and Q&A session.
Monitoring Transactions and Reporting Anomalies: Focuses on procedures for internal and external reporting, identifying suspicious transactions and activities, and concludes with a case study and summary, plus a Q&A session.
