SQL Injection
As the name implies, SQL injection involves an injection of SQL query through input data from the client to the application. Upon successful injection, this interception is capable of reading sensitive information from the database along with modifying the contents of the database. Other possible outcomes include the execution of administrative operations on the database, recovering the content of the file in the DBMS file system, and issuance of a command to the operating system. These types of cyber-attacks are quite common in ASP and PHP applications because they use old functional interfaces. On the contrary, ASP.NET and J2EE applications are less prone to SQL injections.
